Mar 31: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia‘s HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has announced the ‘Saudi Green Initiative’ and ‘Middle East Green Initiative’ to combat the collective threat of climate change and chart a clear roadmap for the Kingdom and the region thereby protecting the planet.
The initiative aims to rehabilitate 40 million hectares of degraded land, reduce carbon emissions, preserve marine life and promote public health by working in coordination with neighboring countries and international partners.
The Kingdom has recognized its need to actively contribute in the fight against climate change, following the Kingdom’s efforts to protect the planet during its presidency of the G20 Summit last year.
