Apr 9: His Royal Highness Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh and the husband of Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen of United Kingdom and 15 other Commonwealth realms passed away today at the Windsor Castle in Berkshire.
He was aged 99 . Buckhingham Palace has confirmed and issued a press release on the same.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, condoled his passing away in his tweet and said “My thoughts are with the British people and the Royal Family on the passing away of HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He had a distinguished career in the military and was at the forefront of many community service initiatives. May his soul rest in peace.”
