May 13: Shri S. Balachandran appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Suriname
The 2005 batch officer is currently serving as the honorary consul general of india at Jaffna, Sri Lanka. He shall replace Shri Mahendra Singh Kanyal who has been appointed as the ambassador of india to the Syrian Arab Republic
He is expected to take charge soon
