Sep 13: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) undertook a cleanliness drive (Swachhata Campaign), in continuation of the measures under Special Campaign 2.0, from November 2022 to August 2023.
Under this Swachhata Campaign, various activities relating to cleanliness, review and simplification of rules & procedures, review of the record management system, productive use of space, and disposal of waste materials for enhancing workplace experience were undertaken at the MEA offices at headquarters, Indian Missions/Posts abroad, Regional Passport Offices, MEA Branch Secretariats and at Offices of Protectorate of Emigrants in India, through nodal officers.
MEA also observed Swachhata Pakhwada from 01 – 15 January 2023 at over 425 locations in India and abroad. Special drives were undertaken to ensure cleanliness, including a special Swachhata drive for segregation and safe disposal of paper waste, plastic waste and e-waste. Initiatives to identify, remove and auction scraps, weed out unwanted files and review of Divyang access at MEA offices were carried out.
While continuing the ongoing Swachhata campaign, MEA is gearing up for the Special Campaign 3.0 which shall commence from 02nd October 2023.
