Sep 30: Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs, Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh will undertake an official visit to Dili (Timor-Leste) from 30 September – 03 October 2023. This will be the first high-level visit from India to Timor-Leste since 2018.
During the visit, MoS will call on the President of Timor-Leste, H.E. Mr. José Ramos-Horta and Prime Minister of Timor-Leste, H.E. Mr. Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão. MoS will also have meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Timor-Leste, H.E. Mr. Bendito dos Santos Freitas and the Trade & Industry Minister of Timor-Leste, H.E. Mr. Filipus Nino Pereira.
MoS will additionally meet in Timor-Leste, heads of some United Nations agencies/ bodies. MoS will also interact with members of the Indian community and take part in Gandhi Jayanti celebrations.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced the decision to establish a resident Mission in Dili, Timor-Leste at the ASEAN-India Summit on 07 September 2023. The visit of MoS further reflects the significance attached by India to its relations with Timor-Leste.
