Oct 06: Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri V. Muraleedharan laid the foundation stone for the building of Regional Passport Office Ranchi in Prabandhan Nagar, Nayasarai Road, Ranchi in the presence of Members of Parliament Sri Samir Oraon, Sri Deepak Prakash, Sri Aditya Sahu, Former Member of Parliament Sri Mahesh Poddar and Member of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Sri Navin Jaiswal.
The RPO building complex is being constructed over an area of 02 acres of land provided by the State Government. The project is executed by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) and is expected to be completed in 2024. The office building of the RPO would also house the Protectorate of Emigrants Office (PoE). The project includes residential buildings.
This RPO office building would be laced with state-of-the-art technology and facilities that would further allow the Ministry of External Affairs to provide passport and related services to citizens in a timely, reliable, accessible, transparent and efficient manner and to fulfil the Prime Minister’s vision of “Ease of Living”.
