Oct 09: H.E. Dr Ian Borg, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Malta, officially visited India from 06-08 October 2023. Senior officials of the Malta Government accompanied him.
During the visit, Foreign Minister Dr. Borg met External Affairs Minister, Dr. S Jaishankar on 06th October 2023. Both sides had detailed discussions on the entire gamut of bilateral relations, including trade & investment, maritime cooperation, renewable energy, tourism, culture and people-to-people ties. The two sides also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest including India-EU Cooperation, Ukraine, India’s G20 Presidency and UN reforms and India’s engagement in the Mediterranean.
Foreign Minister Dr. Borg also held a meeting with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). He visited Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple and the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi.
The first visit to India by Foreign Minister Dr. Ian Borg provided fresh impetus to relations between India and Malta.
