
Mar 22: The Eighth India-EU Cyber Dialogue was held on 20 March 2025 in New Delhi. The Indian Delegation was led by Mr Amit Shukla, Joint Secretary, Cyber Diplomacy Division, Ministry of External Affairs, while the EU delegation was led by co-chairs Mr. Maciej Stadejek, Director for Security and Defence Policy at the European External Action Service (EEAS) and Ms. Christiane Kirketerp de Viron, Director-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology.
The Indian delegation included officials from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Telecom, CERT-In and the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Center (NCIIPC), while the EU side included representatives from the European External Action Service (EEAS) and the EU Delegation to India.
During the Dialogue, both sides reviewed the cyber threat landscape and exchanged views on recent developments in cyber policies, security standards and protection of critical information infrastructure as well as cooperation in multilateral fora on security of ICTs. Both sides also discussed cooperation on standardization of 6G, security standards for telecom equipment and joint capacity building activities.
Cyber security cooperation was an important element as stated in the Joint Statement issued during the visit of the President of the European Commission and EU College of Commissioners to India in February 2025. The 8th India-EU Cyber Dialogue took forward the discussions held in the field of cyber and digital technologies during the visit of the President of the European Commission and EU College of Commissioners to India in February 2025.
