India sees Trade Surplus of $14.06B in Foreign Trade for July 2020

Aug 14: Government of India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry released the Foreign Trade statistics of the country for the period of April to July 202o. The highlights of the reports is as follows

India’s overall exports (Merchandise and Services combined) in July 2020 are estimated to be USD 141.82 billion, exhibiting a negative growth of (-) 21.99per cent over the same period last year. Overall imports in July 2020* are estimated to be USD 127.76billion, exhibiting a negative growth of (-) 40.66 per cent over the same period last year. This led to a trade surplus of USD 14.06 billion.

Merchandise Value – Total Exports USD 66.86 Billion (down by 10.11%), Total Imports USD 88.91 billion (down by 46.70%), Total Trade Deficit USD 13.95 billion

Services Value – Total Exports USD 17.6 billion (down by 2.54%), Total Imports USD 38.85 billion (down by 19.86%), Net of Services USD 28.01 billion

Overall Trade – Exports USD 141.82 billion (down by 21.99%), Imports USD 127.76 billion (down by 40.66%), Trade Surplus USD 14.06 billion
